Greetings from my parents’ house, it be the Andy-San here chillin’ ‘n illin’ with my dogs.
I went down to ITT Tech this past Saturday to discuss my return and to fill out the proper forms. Unfortunatly, I cannot go back because I had already used up my last chance, according to the guy I talked to. He said that they thought I had one more chance left and that’s why they contacted me about coming back. It wasn’t until he double-checked my grades when I came to meet him that he found out that I can’t come back to ITT Tech. Ever. I asked him what if I raised my GPA via attending a community college like some people do. I also asked if I could apply to another ITT Tech campus. I then asked him if I could come back if I changed my major. Every question was answered with a no. I feel totally jipped out, not just because I can never attend ITT Tech again but because I spent my food money on gas to get back to Coldwater. It could have been far worse though. He told me if I had signed the forms to take classes, I wouldn’t be allowed to attend them and I’d still have to pay for them so compared to that potential debt, $20 for gas is peanuts!
Needless to say, the ITT Tech debacle screwed with my long-terms plans a bit. My current plans are to work and save up money to pay off some of my expenses like my credit card debt and my lawyer fees. Since my parents are aware of what’s going on with ITT Tech, they might be more inclined to help me out as far as UU goes. From what I know, they plan on applying for loans for their freight business in early 2008. After they get their loans, I think they’ll help me with my debt and cosign some loans in order to get me back to UU. If all goes to plan, (when has that ever happened, amirite?) I should be attending classes again at UU in the Fall 2008 semester or even in the Summer 2008 semester if they have any of the classes I need available. I’m hoping that I can come back to UU and this time, pass my classes without worry, be it financial or otherwise. In a sense, I’m glad that I have taken time away from college in order to get my shit together and to grow as a person. I know that I’m not 100% better than I was when I left UU in May, but I plan on dealing with those issues in the upcoming months. There are still some personal issues that I have to overcome, especially my lack of applying myself, before I can confidently say that I will graduate with a college degree.
In other news, I only have $162.75 left to pay on my acoustic before it’s mine!! It’s taking a lot longer than I had initially planned on, but I’m glad I even have money to pay on it due to my low hours and minimum wage. I also gave my bro, who’s celebrating his 17th birthday today, my dad’s Alvarez jumbo-body acoustic. Let me explain how I was able to do this. My aunt had my cousin’s boyfriend sell my dad’s guitars in order to pay off his funeral. Two of the guitars weren’t selling so my aunt decided to give them to me and my bro. I wanted to give him the acoustic because I thought he could take better care of it than me and I’m getting an acoustic soon anyway. I have my first guitar back, a Kay Les Paul copy, so I’m happy.
Oh, and I’m gonna burn in Hell because I have an iPod now. It was my mom’s old one (Third Generation 15 GB if you’re wondering) and she gave it to me after she got an iTouch for her upcoming birthday. It’s a bit of a hassle because it only charges via Firewire, which I think I don’t have, and I bought and returned a USB cable for it because of that. Once I figure it out, I should be good, but I dunno. It’s not nearly as convenient as my current MP3 player because you need to use iTunes to put music on it, it can only charge up via Firewire, it loses battery power at a ridiculous rate when you have it connected to transfer songs and stuff, and I’ve heard very bad things about its battery life or lack thereof.
Well, my dogs and I are gonna eat so I’ll see you guys later. Peace!
Andy-San
