Hey thurr it’s the Andy-San here in my newly rearranged room.
As I said above, I decided to rearrange my room because I was bored and tired of the dog getting up on my bed whenever anyone would go by (my bed was next to my long window). The overhead light in my room has been out for a couple of days now. I guess the bulb’s so old that it was put in when my room was made back when my grandpa was still alive so roughly 70’s-80’s. Regular bulbs don’t fit because they need a longer neck to reach the connection spot. I dunno if they make bulbs with a longer neck anymore but if not, I’ll have to replace the overhead light (maybe with a fan!!).
I did something really stupid today. I sent in a money order for a business kit from SMC (the one with the infomercials with Tom Bosley, the dad from Happy Days). I read over the information packet they sent me and it seemed like a good deal. However, I forgot to do my homework and didn’t research the company before I sent the money order. Apparently, they’re not wholesalers but middlemen because wholesalers require a vendor’s license to buy from. Because of that, their wholesalers sell it for even less than what I’m buying from SMC (ex. wholesaler sells a CD to SMC for $1, SMC sells it to me for $5, and I sell the CD to my customers for $15). I’m really getting jip’d!! And then there’s supposed fees for the website besides the upkeep fee of $30 a month. I’m gonna try to cancel this thing as fast as I can before I owe them too much money and it gets out of hand. I really shoulda listened to my gut when they kept calling me with special promotional offers and asking for my credit card # or checking account # (of which, I have neither) and getting really hot under the collar when I said that I’d send in a money order. I’ll look over the material and send it back ASAP.
After getting that ordeal taken care of, I’ll make the right choice and start my real business; an anime store on eBay. If I get a high enough demand for it, I’ll make my own site, but until then, I’ll stick with eBay. I’ll need to look up how to get a vendor’s license in Ohio since it’s different in every state. After I get that, I’ll be able to get items from REAL wholesalers and sell them on eBay. REALLY! I plan on making this business profitable enough to make it my main source of income so I don’t have to work for anyone else but me and eventually be able to pay off my various bills and go back to college. After that, I’ll travel to Japan and live there for awhile and I’ll go from there.
In other news, I’m torn between buying two half-stacks; a Peavey ValveKing 100W and a Crate Blue Voodoo 120W. They’re both cheap and sound fantastic. The Blue Voodoo is used by Marty Friedman so I was almost sold before I even tried it out. The ValveKing sells for around $900 on Musician’s Friend, but they only sell the Blue Voodoo head and it’s more expensive since I have to buy the head and cabinet separetly, however, the Blue Voodoo half-stack is sold on eBay for cheap. Bottom line though is that I must buy a car before I buy anything like that, but it’s always good to have a goal in mind.
Eric and Ben go to college this Friday so I’m gonna hang out with them tomarrow (or later on today actually). I’m gonna miss those guys, but I already said that I’d visit them when I get a car. I’ll probably spend a weekend up there. Speaking of UU, I wonder about something. Since I’m on academic suspension for the fall semester, will I be able to go back in the spring? Or do I have to raise my GPA and/or pay my bill before I can go back? Hmm, something to think about.
On a short note, I finished Welcome to the N.H.K and although the ending left me feeling uncertain, like Satou-San, I felt positive about the future. The anime really touched a lot of issues that I’m going through right now, although I’m better classified as a freeter (a guy who works low pay jobs, but still relies on someone else to cover the big expenses like rent, food, etc) than a NEET or a hikikomori (a reclusive NEET). I can’t wait ’til they release the dub!!
Well, I’m gonna watch my newest acquisition: Samurai Girl – Real Bout High School. ‘Night!
