Waiting On My World To Change

Hey guys, it’s been awhile hasn’t it? At least, it feels like forever.

I submitted to Associated Content my review of Kamen no Maid Guy on Saturday. I’m waiting on them to either approve or disapprove it before I put it up here.  It feels like I’ve waited a whole week on them! I guess I’m having a problem with my patience, huh?

Braving the sleet, I went to Wal-Mart today and picked up a copy of the latest Guitar World magazine:

I would have to say that one of my favorite Black Sabbath songs besides classics like Iron Man, War Pigs, and Paranoid would have to be Into The Void. Although I don’t really like how low Ozzy’s singing in that song, the riffs are just massive! If you listen carefully enough, you can hear where guys like Zakk Wylde and Dimebag Darrell got some of their guitar mannerisms from.

I’ve been in a creative slump for the past couple of days. I don’t worry about them as much as I used to. What I do to break myself out of a slump is try to absorb as much as I can on whatever I’m interested in at the moment. If it’s guitar, then I watch music videos, instructional videos, or interviews with the artists.

God bless YouTube! Just like P2P networks and BitTorrent have expanded my tastes in music, YouTube takes them to the next level! Without YouTube and Google Video, I wouldn’t have become interested in countless things. If I’m looking to watch a new anime series, I usually look for the first episode on YouTube. Same with music. If it weren’t for Google Video and YouTube, I wouldn’t have become a fan of any of these guys:

Marty Friedman & Jake Shimabukuro:

Marty Friedman & Paul Gilbert:

Lee Kyung Won:

Neil Zaza:

Les Paul (the guitarist):

Hibari Misora:

Jeff Beck:

Before the slump, I came up with a couple new story ideas. My mom told me about a dream she had, and I wrote down the main points right after.

Well, I’m gonna watch some more of Myself ; Yourself so I’ll see you guys later.
