This vlog was originally suppose to be Vlog 33, but I decided to rerecord it because I wanted to do a shorter take. However, I was able to par down the dialog and thankfully I did because I talk about some stuff here that I forgot to say in Vlog 33.

One of the things I forgot to mention was that Chrome Sparks has its own Soundclick account! It just has the 5 Riff Ideas for now (I haven’t officially recorded Riff Ideas #6 or #7 yet, aside from Lost Vlog 07), but I’ll be recording some new material when I get new equipment in San Diego.

Unbeknownst to me at the time, Vlog 32 was actually released on my 4-year YouTube Anniversary and I forgot to talk about it!

I still can’t believe that it’s been four years since I signed up for YouTube! A lot has changed in that time, and I hope that the quality of my videos has gone up along with the times.

When I go to A-school in San Diego, I plan on getting an HD camcorder so that you guys can see me in HD as well as the surrounding areas. As I’ve said before, I’m also planning on continuing to vlog while I’m in the Navy as much as I can and hopefully let you guys in on the scenery.

Well, it’s been fun looking back on these past four years. Here’s to many more!

Lost Vlog 08 – Happy Belated 4-Year YouTube Anniversary (Alternate Take)

I recorded this vlog earlier today, but I’m writing this from the hotel room that I stay in until I go to MEPS in the morning. Wish me luck with the weigh-in!

That’s right, I’m gonna go in and get weighed and measured and then discuss what my rating (job) will be in the Navy as well as when I’ll ship out for basic training/boot camp. I’m proud to say that as of this morning, I’m under 200 lbs!! That means I lost over 20 lbs in a month-and-a-half!!

As I’ve said before, I’m shooting for the IT rating, which involves fixing computers and stuff (from what I’ve read online). I plan on going back to college when my 4 years of active are done, and hopefully study abroad in Japan. I’m not sure if I’ll be allowed to leave the country while I’m inactive so if any of you guys know, please leave me a comment below!

Although I said I was gonna do my own taxes (and I was almost done too), I decided to get them done professionally because my school taxes were a little screwy and I didn’t want the IRS on my ass for a couple bucks. They took out a shit-ton for fees and junk so I won’t be able to get a guitar or a camera. I will be getting something special though so look forward to the surprise!

Well kids, I’d better head to bed soon since I gotta get up super-early. Good night!

Vlog 34 – The Return To MEPS, College Plans, & A Surprise

I might be getting a new guitar or a camera soon, depending on how much I get back from my income tax return.

If I’m able to get a guitar, I’ll be getting a PRS SE One in Antique White. I want to add a neck humbucker to it as well as change the positions of the volume knob and the 3-way pickup selector switch that I’ll need.

If I’m unable to get a guitar, I’ll just get a Sanyo Xacti VPC TH1.

I’m also getting close to raising the amount for keeping TheAndySan.com online for another year with only about $20 left to go!

As far as my weight goes, I finally reached my goal of losing 15 lbs this past Friday! My Navy recruiter decided to reschedule when I go back in to MEPS for this Thursday-Friday so I’ll just be doing more situps and running outside to shrink my waist until then.

Even though I lost over 15 lbs and can fit into Size 34 jeans again, which I haven’t been able to do since high school, I’ve only lost an inch around my waist. It’s certainly not bad, but I expected to lose more inches along with the pounds.

Well, it’s been fun, but I’m gonna hit the sack soon so I’ll see you guys on the flipside! Have fun!

After dicking around too much with formatting my Tweets and having them go schizo on me (“We are everywhere on these posts, even within ourselves!!”), I decided to change it up. Instead of doing the copy-paste straight from my Twitter to here like I used to, I copy-paste from my Twitter to Microsoft Word, clean it up, and then copy-paste it here. Although the colors aren’t as Twitter-authentic, I like the overall cleanliness of this new format. What do you guys think?

I’m really diggin’ what Jane Carrey is doing musically and yes, she’s the daughter of one of my comedic idols, Jim Carrey!

Also, I’m both glad and mad that Paul Reed Smith drastically lowered their prices on some of the SE models, more specifically the SE Custom 24 which has gone down from $665 to a paltry $499. If I was still working at Myles’ Dairy Queen and living at The Enclave II, that guitar would be mine come Christmas time!!

Yesterday was a good day! I got paid from my website, bought $20 worth of gas, a 10-pack of DVD+Rs, and tried out those newly-priced double cheeseburgers from Burger King. They were good, but boy were they filling! I didn’t end up eating supper until around 6 or 7, and I ate the burgers around noon!!

I also watched the first 4 episodes of the English-dubbed version of Bamboo Blade yesterday. Although I’m tickled pink at the fact that it’s coming out in America, I do have some gripes about the voice actors. I love Kirino’s VA and have grown to like Tama’s VA too, but I think that Dan’s VA is a very bad fit and Miya-Miya’s VA’s pronunciation of Dan’s name makes it sound like his name is Don.

I know that she’s trying to be accurate with the Japanese pronunciation and I really appreciate that she’s giving her performance that little bit of extra effort, but when it comes to something that could confuse the casual American anime watchers (“Is his name Dan or Don?”), it’s okay to Americanize it and call him Dan.

Well kiddos, I think it’s time to go out and get myself some lunch. Keep it real, homies!

On Thursday, I met with an attorney to officially drop the domestic violence charges that I filed against Jon when he threatened me and the family indirectly by saying “In my perfect world, you and everyone here is dead.” Since that time, his behavior has improved dramtically. However, he doesn’t really do much these days aside from work and coming out of his room to eat. It’s really depressing watching him in that state, but I hope he cheers up once he gets into a good college, which is another reason I dropped all charges. After he pays off the court costs, he’ll be able to start college as early as January 2010. I also wish him the best, as I always have, in his studies!

I spent the majority of Sunday just chillin’ to some excellent music and getting caught up on my YouTube subscriptions.

I also watched Jason of the MyArgonauts, TaishaJason, and JasonsInJapan channels from YouTube on BlogTV. He’s a real nice guy and we talked for a bit. I asked him several questions about Japan like is it okay for me to mention that I was born on Pearl Harbor Day, which is when Japan bombed an American naval base in Hawaii and forced us to get involved with World War II, as well as if he’s seen Marty Friedman on Japanese TV. He didn’t initially know who I was talking about, but then he remembered and said he did see Marty a couple times on TV.

Monday was to me Sunday Part 2. I edited a Lost Vlog that was originally supposed to be Vlog 16, but I rerecorded it because the lighting was bad. I guess I didn’t outright delete it because I talked about some of the cool guitars that I want to own someday like The Dean From Hell, a Jackson Kelly, a Carvin V220, and the ever-elusive Ibanez SZ Marty Friedman signature model in blue with two humbuckers. Wow, I wrote three posts on Tuesday!!! I don’t normally do that, but I guess I was in a writing frenzy that day, haha!! Besides that, lots of stuff still happened that day: I got my 100th subscriber on YouTube, I decided to do something with my second YouTube channel by adding all of my videos to it in the order that I originally uploaded them and talk about how they relate to me today, and called in for a request to play Carcass’ Heartwork on Infinite Metal that wasn’t played because they ran out of time. Shortly after I did my post about KCB International, I found another school called KCP International. It’s basically the same thing, but it actually lists the costs of attending where KCB doesn’t. I’ll be looking into that as well.

To be honest, I don’t like the quality of Vlog 22 so I’ll be reediting it so I sound significantly less like a drowning T-Pain on a coke binge and more like me drowning on a coke binge. Look forward to that!

Twitter Thursday Throwdown: September 3, 2009 – September 9, 2009

This vlog was originally suppose to be Vlog 16, but I decided to rerecord it because the room was too dark. Thankfully, I didn’t delete it because I talk about some cool stuff

In this video, I talk about my new goal board, different guitars that I want, and I show you some of the changes that I did to the apartment since my tour video.

At this point, I haven’t yet propped up my mini-fridge with two pieces of wood. They were originally shelves that I got from an entertainment center that was being thrown away nearby.

On my goal boards, I have the following goals/intentions:

“I deliver $1,337 worth of value to others and am rewarded accordingly.”

“I am grateful for owning a Peavey Vypyr 75.”

“I am in a relationship with a beautiful woman.”

“I am the proud owner of a Paul Reed Smith SE Custom 24 in Whale Blue.”

“I weight 180 lbs.”

“I am the frontman for my band Chrome Sparks as the lead vocalist/rhythm guitarist with *blank* on lead guitar/backup vocals/screams, *blank* on drums, and *blankitty-blank* on bass/backup vocals”

At the time, I was saving up for a PRS SE Custom 24 in Whale Blue and had around $60. Before I had to suddenly move back with my folks, I had amassed $134.02 total. Keep in mind that I got all this strictly from tips and all of the change in my wallet left over at the end of the day as well as some change found lying around. However, I did keep eight quarters (that’s $2 for my international audience) in my wallet just in case.

Besides the PRS, I want to own The Dean From Hell, a Jackson Kelly, a Jackson Kelly Star (think of a Kelly fusing with a Randy Rhoads asymmetrical V), and a Carvin V220 (which is quite the unique instrument indeed).

The Jackson Kelly and the Carvin V220 were both used by Marty Friedman when he was in Megadeth and Cacophony respectively. I tried unsuccessfully to get his signature Ibanez SZ model, of which there are two versions: one in blue with two humbuckers and another in red with a single humbucker and a killswitch instead of a volume knob. Do I really have to say which one I wanted? *it’s the blue one*

I have already recorded a video showing how to play Chrome Sparks’ Riff Idea #3, but I still need to edit it first because it’s a bit long as it is, around 14 minutes and 14 seconds long to be exact. In the meantime, you can listen to all of my Riff Ideas here at the only official MySpace of Chrome Sparks!

Lost Vlog 4 – Of Goal Boards & Guitars

After having this vlog sit on my hard drive collecting e-dust since the 4th of July, I’ve decided to do something with all this free time and finally got around to editing it.

In this vlog, I’m out in the middle of nowhere on the 4th of July talking about my epic bike ride, how I’m saving up for a new Paul Reed Smith SE Custom 24 in Whale Blue as well as a Peavey Vypyr (which has been put on hold until I save up for a new place), Michael Jackson’s death (which was very recent at the time), a new guitar book that I bought, then-new music projects like Chrome Sparks as well as possibly new singing videos, and upgrading my Kay Les Paul copy. Can you say run-on sentence? Good.

Ahh, V-Hudge. Her Blackberry seems to get more hacked on than Bruno in Texas. Your once-private naked pictures that were on your Blackberry got leaked onto the internet not once but twice. Sure, I’ll believe you didn’t leak them out intentionally for attention. Sure…

You know, I think it’s actually harder for an established band to release an album than for a fresh new band to do the same. Case in point: Alice In Chains hasn’t released a new album since their self-titled album in 1995 and they’ve only played a handful of shows after singer Layne Staley died baxkc in 2002.

Now, they’re set to release their first album in almost 15 years with a new singer and they’re gonna see a lot of flack because it doesn’t sound exactly like the old Alice In Chains. I for one LOVE what I’ve heard so far on their upcoming album Black Gives Way to Blue!! I’m also glad that they’re playing again, and with a killer singer to boot! Go AiC!!

Since I practically eat Tuna Salsa every day, I’m seriously thinking about recording how I make it. Of course, this will be right after I get done with editing the other vlogs that are collecting e-dust on my desktop.

Although it definitely wasn’t in my best financial wishes, I feel that getting a cooling pad for my laptop was a great decision. It’s funny, I don’t get useless things when I impulse shop; it’s just that my timing is usually piss-poor. Fortunatly, I can tap into my savings (within reason) in case I need a little extra cash for food or phone cards (although getting a phone card might be a poor use of my savings).

After going over the six goals on my goal board, I decided to make two changes.
