Deja Vuesday – …And I’m Back!

Hola, it’s TheAndySan hurr welcoming you once again to that special time of the week where I take a look back in time to one of my older posts and see how it relates to me today. This week, I look over the post …And I’m Back! Let’s begin:

Hey guys! It’s good to be back home again!

My mini-vacation was definitely needed. I didn’t do much, but honestly, it was what I didn’t have to do that I liked the most: working.

It’s official: everyone in the developed world has seen The Dark Knight. I thought the movie was great. It did drag in some parts, but its minor imperfections and my nitpickery don’t take away its awesomeness.

Everybody needs a break from work every now and then. However, when the break becomes extended, things tend to get a little dicey.

I wanted to do a lot of things this weekend like finish editing my upcoming vlog showing how to play Riff Idea #1, hang with Eriopolis, call potential sponsors for this site, and work on some new riffs. None of that happened though as I spent the majority of my time watching DBZ Abridged by Team Four Star and Parker Lewis Can’t Lose on YouTube. Seriously, those shows are quite addictive!

So Jon made a total ass of himself the whole weekend. He was being an attention whore and stepped on everyone’s toes all while we were there. I was embarrassed. Oh, and because I want to pursue a career as a stand-up comedian, I’m no longer in Rust. Oh well, I was gonna quit if he went through with that whole Grand Slam thing anyway. I doubt that he really meant it, but I dunno about Jon these days. I can’t wait for life to rip him down to size, seriously.

Since getting released from jail as well as getting his job back at Taco Bell, he pulled a 180° and is considerably better than he was when I wrote this post. He’s also going to be heading to college next month, and I wish him the best of luck!

I wonder if he’ll read the older posts on this blog that I wrote when I was at UU? Hmm…

Moving right along, I saw some videos of my cousin’s trip to Japan. I didn’t realize that Japan had such an eclectic taste in arcitechture. Sometimes, it was clever. Other times, it made you go, “Huh?”. There’s definitely a lot more chrome and glass in Japan than I thought. I can’t wait to live in Japan!!

Being used to/pampered with awesome online vlogs about Japan, I was kinda disappointed in my cousin’s videos. It was mostly walking around a pond with uber-Koi trying to eat swans (No!! They ate Rodger!! Oh wait, he’s in Iwate. Nevermind), and looking out the window of a bus as the building quickly pass by.

No Kubukicho visit for her! No siree, Bob!

I have three majors/minors at BGSU that I’m debating between. Here are the pros and cons of each:

Creative Writing

Pros:
- Will help my writing tremendously.
- My potential jobs from this are incredibly varied.

Cons:
- Might not get me a solid income.
- Might have waaaay too many really long essays to write.

Cons:
- It’s a fairly narrow niche market compared to other majors.
- My expenses living in Japan may be too much for my income as an English instructor.

Management Information Systems

Pros:
- Will put my ITT Tech credits to good use.
- Will widen my career opportunities.

Cons:
- I’m not into it as much as I was back in 2004.

Japanese

Pros:
- I’ll learn a language that I’m really interested in.
- I’ll have opportunities to study abroad and work as an English instructor among other occupations.

Because I have 3 majors that I wanna study, I’ve decided to go through the following plans depending on whether or not BGSU accepts my credit from ITT Tech:

If BGSU Doesn’t Accept My ITT Tech Credits

- Major in Creative Writing and minor in Japanese.

If BGSU Accepts My ITT Tech Credits

- Major in Creative Writing and minor in Management Information Systems while taking Japanese classes as my electives and try to study abroad.

Well, I’m gonna watch some videos and head to bed. Good-night!

In a later post, I explained that when I go to BGSU, I would be dual-majoring in Creative Writing and Japanese and minoring in Management Information Systems. I’m still gonna go through with that since I think it’s the best of both worlds; I get to mostly study subjects that I’m interested in and still put my old ITT Tech credits to good use.

In order to get there, I’ll wait until I turn 24 and then apply at Owens Community College in order to boost my GPA and get some pesky gen-ed classes out of the way. After that, then I’ll reapply at BGSU and go from there.

Well, it’s been fun, but I’m gonna run. See you guys!!
