Lost Vlog 08 – Happy Belated 4-Year YouTube Anniversary (Alternate Take)

This vlog was originally suppose to be Vlog 33, but I decided to rerecord it because I wanted to do a shorter take. However, I was able to par down the dialog and thankfully I did because I talk about some stuff here that I forgot to say in Vlog 33.

One of the things I forgot to mention was that Chrome Sparks has its own Soundclick account! It just has the 5 Riff Ideas for now (I haven’t officially recorded Riff Ideas #6 or #7 yet, aside from Lost Vlog 07), but I’ll be recording some new material when I get new equipment in San Diego.

Unbeknownst to me at the time, Vlog 32 was actually released on my 4-year YouTube Anniversary and I forgot to talk about it!

I still can’t believe that it’s been four years since I signed up for YouTube! A lot has changed in that time, and I hope that the quality of my videos has gone up along with the times.

When I go to A-school in San Diego, I plan on getting an HD camcorder so that you guys can see me in HD as well as the surrounding areas. As I’ve said before, I’m also planning on continuing to vlog while I’m in the Navy as much as I can and hopefully let you guys in on the scenery.

Well, it’s been fun looking back on these past four years. Here’s to many more!

Unbeknownst to me, Vlog 32 was released on my 4-year YouTube Anniversary and I forgot to talk about it! Whoops!

I can’t believe that it’s been four years since I signed up for YouTube! A lot has changed in that time, and I hope that the quality of my videos has gone up with the times.

In the near future, I plan on getting an HD camcorder so that you guys can see me in HD as well as the surrounding areas. I’m also planning on continuing to vlog while I’m in the Navy and in Japan as much as I can and hopefully let you guys in on the scenery.

Guitar Solo Medley

If you can’t see the video above, click here.

Well here it is, my infamous guitar solo video.┬áIt has spawned the catchphrase “finger-lickin’ tremellow” as well as gave me a reason to work on my rhythm playing before I step up to do a solo.

I use a Squier Strat that is plugged into the same rig I use today; a Digitech Metal Master pedal plugged into a Behringer Ultra Chorus plugged into a Johnson Reptone 15 uber-crappy amp.

I miss my Strat! It’s still at the music store so I might be getting it back soon. Stay tuned for that!!

After recording the piano videos, I thought it was time to show off my guitar skills too. I was preparing a little guitar solo thing for the upcoming Urbana’s Got Talent show at UU and wanted to show the guys a sneak peek of it. I got Eriopolis and his then-roommate and my friend Dan to come to my dorm room to record it.

When I did go to the talent show, I ended up performing THREE times!!! I first did a karaoke of Vanilla Ice’s Ice Ice Baby, which was caught on video and will be the next vid I upload.

I then did my guitar solo thingy, but the camera ran out of power so I had Dan record the audio on his Archos uber-MP3 player. I put it up on my Xanga, but I’m thinking of grabbing it and putting it on YouTube as well as various other MP3s. What do you guys think?

The third time I went onstage, I did a karaoke of Ozzy’s Crazy Train and nearly blew the emcee’s head off with the “ALL ABOARD, HAHAHA!!!” in the opening. Unfortunately, it wasn’t recorded at all so it was lost to the annuls of time. It’s probably for the best because I wasn’t really singing it so much as I was screaming it.

In the end, I came in third place and walked away with a whopping nothing except for a YouTube video, an MP3, and a compliment from Dan saying that I could be good at music if I would practice more. Well, that’s a compliment in my book anyway.

Here’s the original description:

Hey homes, it’s the Andy-San here. This video is of me performing a practice solo for an upcoming Talent Show. I noticed my rediculous facial expressions after this was shot. Besides that, I feel like I’m ready for the Talent Show. Comments are appreciated. Laterz!
