Sorry about the mini-vacation from posting. I’ve been busy with work as well as looking for sources of income online.
I came across two sites that may help me with my writing as well as give me an extra source of income. They are PayPerPost and SocialSpark. I’ll be looking into those websites later on today.
I’ve been doing some calculating to see if I could make a living off of these sites. The answer is yes, but it’ll take a lot of work. For example, the most common (and also the lowest) payout for a post is $5. I want to limit myself to posting no more than four times a day unless I have a damn good reason.
That would give me a maximum of $20 a day if I did nothing but $5 posts. That doesn’t sound like much, but if I did four $5 posts every day, then I would have $600 in a 30-day period. However, I think that posting that much would make my blog look too spammy so what if I did three $7 posts everyday? $630 in 30 days. How about two $11 posts everyday? $660 a month.
Granted, this isn’t the $100,000-an-hour gravy train that everyone’s looking for online, but it still has potential. If I really put my mind to it, I could match my income working at Wal-Mart and go beyond it. However, as I said before, it’ll take a lot of hard work and self-disipline if I want to make this my main source of income. It can easily be a secondary source of income as opposed to my main source of income. Hell, who wouldn’t want an extra $600 or so in their pocket a month?!
I’ve read some reviews of these sites, and they say that PayPerPost and SocialSpark are just more companies exploting the Web 2.0 movement by hiring bloggers to plug products and services. This may be so, but I view it like practice for my writing. By writing about various topics and products, I’ll expose myself to many new things that I wouldn’t have experienced if I would have stuck to doing the same-o same-o. Also, it will increase the amount of content on my blog as well as help me sharpen my writing skills because I’ll be so immersed in writing all the time.
